A full-service consulting and staffing firm, Avacend Inc understands the advantages of maintaining a diverse and inclusive workplace and is committed to ensuring that all candidates receive equal employment opportunities. As a woman- and minority-owned business, Avacend Inc is certified by the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council.
Founded in 1997, the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) certifies women-owned businesses in the United States. WBENC certification validates to the public that a business is at least 51 percent owned and operated by one or more women. In addition to certification, WBENC provides certified businesses with opportunities including its MatchMaker programs.
MatchMaker programs facilitate meaningful business relationships by connecting corporations and government agencies to WBENC-certified businesses. The WBENC chooses pairings based upon the corporation or government’s needs and sets up one-on-one meetings between the corporate/government member and an eligible WBENC-certified business. WBENC holds national MatchMaker meetings twice a year. In 2016, it facilitated 550 one-on-one meetings.
